High speed cnc machining: Maumee Pattern has CNC machined steel tooling in unattended fashion since 1987. Today Vertical and Horizontal machining is performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Leblond-Makino's latest high speed machining centers with travel up to 1200 x 2000 mm. Weights up to 15,400 lbs. State of the art R.P.M., speed and feed rates must be witnessed to be appreciated. Delivery times are greatly reduced while at the same time improving surface finish and virtually eliminating hand work. Advanced toolpath generation with .0002" chordal tolerance and .0002" positioning accuracy allow tooling to be produced with more accuracy than any other method. CNC EDM Machining: High Speed CNC machined graphite electrodes provide an extremely accurate and stable medium to transfer graphite shape into steel, stainless, iron, or aluminum without the use of cutters. Electrode wear is minimized by use of a finisher electrode. Any impact of wear is further reduced by compensation in the spherical orbit. Graphite (carbon) is CNC machined undersize according to planned spark gap and orbit. Large computer controlled sparks rough burn. Spark length is reduced as the finisher electrode polishes the cavity and nearly eliminates the need for hand work. Tooling tolerance +/- .002" (.05mm) can be held even in deep draw areas because cutter deflection is not an issue. Maumee Pattern can CNC-RAM-EDM tooling up to 1500mm x 1100mm in size.
