What are the recommended browser settings for this site?
This site operates best with Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher (version 6.0+ recommended; AOL version 8.0 or higher; and Mozilla FireFox version 1.0.3 or higher. Netscape Navigator is not supported at this time and may cause unpredictable results. Pop-up blocking must be disabled or http://www.firstindex.com must be added to your trusted site list.

What is pop-up window blocking?
Pop-up windows are secondary Web browser windows that are frequently used for advertising. They often open as soon as you navigate to a Web site, whether you want to see them or not. They might open when you click a link or button on a Web site, and they might open either over or under the window you wish to view.

When Pop-up Window Blocking is enabled, it automatically blocks the programming code Web pages use to open secondary windows without your knowledge. Pages that open secondary windows when you click a link or perform other actions are not affected.

GR7 uses pop-up windows to display additional information. If you have pop-ups disabled in your browser or via a third party pop-up blocker, this will interfere with your use of GR7. Disable the block or customize it to not block pop-ups for this site.

Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 includes an update for Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 6. The update automatically installs and enables a pop-up blocker. This blocker will interfere with the functionality of GR7. If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2, ensure that you have added http://www.firstindex.com as a trusted site or disabled the popup blocker.

How do I add a Trusted Site to the Windows XP's Pop-up Blocker?
The default settings for the pop-up blocker allow you to see pop-ups that are opened when you click a link or button on a Web site. There might be some Web sites that you visit on a regular basis, and you want to see the pop-ups displayed by those sites. Just follow the steps below:

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • On the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.
  • In the Address of Web site to allow box, type the address (or URL) of the Web site you want to see pop-ups from, e.g. http://www.firstindex.com and then click [Add].

How can I access or log on to secure Web sites with Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall?
You cannot access or you cannot log on to the secure Web pages while Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall is enabled. To fix this problem, start with the first section, "To verify that you can connect to a secure site," and follow the instructions from there.

  • To verify that you can connect to a secure site:
    • Start Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall.
    • Double-click Privacy Control.
    • Click Custom Level.
    • Make sure that Enable Secure Connection is checked.
    • Click OK, and then click OK again.
    • Close your browser.
    • Exit Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall.
    • Open your browser, and try to connect.
    • If you still cannot access or log on to a secure Web site, then go on to the next section, "To check your confidential information protection."
  • To check your confidential information protection :
    • Start Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall.
    • Double-click Privacy Control.
    • Click Custom Level.
    • Examine the setting for Confidential or Private Information. If it is set to High, change the setting to Medium.
    • Click OK, and then click OK again.
    • Exit Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall.
    • Return to the secure site and try to log on again.
    • If you are prompted to allow Confidential information to go out, click OK.
    • If you can log on, you know that Confidential information blocking was preventing the logon.
    • Leave the Confidential Information setting in Privacy section at Prompt.

  • Contact the customer service team at First Index to ensure that the notifications are being sent to the correct address.
  • Once these steps are complete, if you still do not receive your notifications, send an e-mail to support@firstindex.com detailing the problem.
