Purchasing Fairs

First Index, along with its industry partners, hosts Buyer/Supplier meets.  A typical format is the Buyer Purchasing Fair (BPF).  A BPF is best described as a reverse trade show:  Buyers from OEMs sit at tables and await the arrival of Suppliers.  Suppliers have prior knowledge of the commodities that each OEM purchases.  Suppliers engage in brief conversations with any OEM that seems to be a fit.  Typical fairs include 100+ Buyers from 40+ OEMs.  Most OEMs spend a minimum of $5MM per year on custom made components.

These events are tremendous opportunities to build rapport and plant seeds for the future.  Buyer/Supplier meets are additional examples of how First Index can literally "bring the Buyers to the table" for its Members.
